Stolen boat docked at Werribee South

Police have released images of a man after a stolen boat was driven from Portarlington Pier to Wyndham Harbour in Werribee South during October

Marine Investigation Unit detectives believe the boat, named Merry Fisher, was stolen from mooring number six at Portarlington Pier between 12pm on October 20 and 7am on October 21.

The boat was driven by an unknown person to Wyndham Harbour, where it docked about 5.35pm on October 21.

The boat was recovered by police, however detectives are yet to identify the persons involved in the alleged theft.

As part of their investigation, police have released images of a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged between 20 and 30, about 172 centimetres tall with short dark hair and tattoos on his left hand.

He was wearing white sunglasses, a red spray jacket, black trousers and black Nike runners with white soles.

He was also carrying a red re-usable shopping bag.

Detectives have also released images of the boat, in the hope someone may recognise the vessel.
