Showered with good food

An Italian-style lunch hosted by young people at the Iramoo Community Centre last week was all for a good cause.

The young hosts held the Pulito Vita (which means “clean life”) lunch to help the Salvation Army’s Wyndham City branch raise $40,000 to buy a mobile shower that would provide the homeless with hot showers.

They are taking part in a program being run by the Australian Employment Training Solutions Youth Jobs PaTH Group, which aims to help people aged 18 to 25 gain employment skills.

As part of the event, the young people also asked attendees to donate bathroom items such as soap or shampoo.
