Just like many children across the nation, Arhan and Adaline are looking forward to starting grade prep.

The young pals, who are aged five years old, will both begin their educational journey at Dohertys Creek P-9 College in Truganina.

Victorian pupils are set to return to the classroom from Friday, January 28 onwards, with some government schools students set to commence term one on Monday, January 31.

Adaline and Arhan, who know each other because their families are friends, said they were looking forward to starting school.

Arhan said he was not worried about missing his family, including his baby brother, on his first day of school.

“I could learn more things, interesting things and things that are so cool,” he said.

Arhan, who hopes to become a policeman in the future, said he was interested in learning about “building things” at school.

Adaline said that she has already met some of her teachers at Dohertys Creek P-9 College, while visiting the school.

“I’m interested in learning lots of things, I really like maths, painting and everything,” she said.

Adaline said she also loved animals, especially her pet dog Romeo, her fish and quail.

“I want to be a doctor when I grow up,” she said.

Victoria’s first school term of 2022 is set to finish on April 8.
