One killed in Point Cook collision

UPDATE

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a fatal collision at Point Cook this afternoon.

It is believed a tipper truck was travelling north on Hacketts Road when it collided with a car at the intersection of Sneydes Road about 1.24pm.

Police have been told the car was travelling south on Hacketts Road before it made a right turn into Sneydes Road.

A passenger in the car, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, died at the scene.

Another passenger was taken to The Alfred with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car received non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

The driver of the truck was uninjured in the smash and stopped at the scene.

Investigators have been told that a white van was seen at the intersection around the time of the collision and police are appealing for the occupants to contact investigators.
