Volunteers from the Werribee Ladies for Kids Auxiliary for the Royal Children’s Hospital will be busy fundraising next month.

Auxillary group member Heather Brett will run stalls at Pacific Werribee from May 10 to 16 and MADE on Watton from May 20 to 23 and May 27 to 30.

Items for sale will include knitted blankets, toys, teddy bears, “beautiful” jumpers, tea towels and rugs.

Mrs Brett said throughout last year’s COVID-19 pandemic the auxiliary group raised $16,500, by selling handmade masks and other items online – the group usually raised about $50,000 per year for the hospital.

Mrs Brett said she has many regular customers who like buying wares at the fundraising stalls.

“Especially at the Werribee Plaza (Pacific Werribee), a lot of people hang out for me to be there because I do jams and chutneys,” she said.

“They say, ‘Oh, thank goodness you’re back’.”
