One Wyndham postcode has no active coronavirus cases as of today, according to Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) data.

The data shows that the 3027 (Williams Landing) area is virus-free.

The 3029 area (Hoppers Crossing, Tarneit and Truganina) has recorded 31 active cases, while 3030 (Werribee, Point Cook, Werribee South and Quandong) recorded 39 active cases.

The 3024 postcode (Mambourin, Manor Lakes, Mount Cottrell and Wyndham Vale) area has recorded four active cases.

According to DHHS, an outbreak at the Baptcare Wyndham Lodge Community in Werribee has been linked to a total of 256 cases.

Wyndham council and The Gordon TAFE last week announced they were helping to engage residents looking for work with a series of Industry Insights sessions, to be held on the last Tuesday of every month for the rest of the year.

Wyndham’s future focused economy portfolio holder, Cr Walter Villagonzalo, said the online sessions would inform jobseekers about what local industries were hiring and how the industries operate.

“The next session on September 29th will host hiring managers and recruiters from the early childhood sector who will offer their insights on careers in the industry, tips on applying for roles, and what they looking for in potential staff members,” Cr Villagonzalo said.

“With many Wyndham residents out of a job because their workplaces are reducing in size and the tightening their budgets temporarily, we want to show you there are still plenty of vacant jobs available locally.

“Future sessions will focus on labour hire opportunities and the cleaning and sanitation industry, which is one of the biggest growth industries expanding to meet the current demands of the pandemic.”

The upcoming Industry Insights event will be held Tuesday, September 29 from 10-11.30am via Zoom.
