Motorcyclist dragged by 4WD

A hit and run collision in Wyndham Vale last week was not drug related, police say.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Natalie Webster said police are still investigating the collision on May 11 and charges have not yet been laid.

“It is believed a 34-year-old Werribee man was riding a stolen motorcycle along Windsor Avenue, when he was followed and struck by a 4WD about 4.10pm near the intersection with Bolton Road,” Ms Webster said.

“The motorcyclist was dragged along the road for several metres, and the driver of the 4WD left the scene.”

A number of people stopped to help the motorcyclist, who suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Ms Webster said the motorcyclist and the driver were known to each other, and a small quantity of drugs was located at the scene, however the collision was not in relation to a drug dispute.

Wyndham Vale Fire Brigade third lieutenant Andrew Ludeman said three units responded to the collision, with 14 members on-ground.

“We provided first aid until an ambulance arrived, and traffic control,” he said.
