Massive cannabis haul in the west

Police have seized millions of dollars’ worth of cannabis from across the west, including 257 cannabis plants from Point Cook property that are estimated to be worth approximately $1 million.

Police carried out a warrant at the house on Monday, November 7.

Overall, during the last week, police have seized almost 650 cannabis plants and approximately 10 kilograms of dried cannabis from residential properties in Tarneit, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Truganina, Brooklyn, Braybrook, Maidstone and Williamstown.

A 55-year-old Point Cook woman has been charged with cultivate a commercial quantity of cannabis.

She was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on January 31, 2022.

Police said that a 35-year-old Tarneit man is expected to be charged on summons with possession of cannabis, and a 60-year-old Brooklyn man has also been issued with a caution for possession of cannabis.
