Man stabbed in Werribee

A man has allegedly been stabbed near Station Place, Werribee this morning.

The alleged incident took place shortly after 11am.

A man allegedly stabbed another man, while standing outside a fresh food store.

Witnesses came to the aid of the victim, before ambulance and police arrived on the scene.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said a man aged in his thirties was taken to hospital with upper body injuries, in a serious but stable condition.

A crime scene has been established and Victoria Police Crime Scene Services are in attendance.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said officers have arrested a man following an incident “where a man was cut to the arm”.

“It is believed a man was approached by an unknown male and cut on his arm on Manly Street just after 11am,” the spokesperson said.

“The offender ran from the scene but was located a short time later.

“The injured man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.”
