Lotto syndicate scores big win

A group of 40 Melbourne residents will share in a TattsLotto prize valued at more than $1.3 million.

The syndicate entry, nicknamed ‘GOLD59’, was one of three division one-winning entries drawn across the nation on Saturday, June 1.

Each of the three entries won a division one prize of $1,292,118.57 but the GOLD59 syndicate’s marked system entry also won division three 30 times, division four 150 times, division five 49 times and division six 168 times, boosting its total winning amount to $1,326,316.92.

Members of the GOLD59 syndicate will each receive a $33,157.93 share of the win.

Shares in the group syndicate were sold at Werribee Plaza Lotto Kiosk, Highlands News and Lotto in Craigieburn, Doncaster Lotto, Waverley Gardens Lotto, Forest Hill Lotteries, Thomastown News and Lotto, Clarinda LottoNews and Interpost, Golden Glass Lotto in Glenroy, Spring Hill News in Cranbourne and Chadstone Newsagency.

The other division one-winning entries in the draw were from Victoria and South Australia.

Vaikunth Gohil, the owner of Thomastown News and Lotto – which set up the GOLD59 syndicate – said he was thrilled with the division one win.

“This will be the 32nd division one-winning entry we’ve sold,” he said.

The winning numbers were 25, 20, 6, 9, 27 and 31, with supplementary numbers 36 and 2.
