Get ready to spring into some cold-weather fun during the upcoming Winter Street Party.

The annual event will be held in Werribee’s city centre on Friday, June 28 from 4pm to 9pm.

Wyndham’s tourism and major events portfolio holder, Cr John Gibbons said the street party, which attracts thousands of people, would feature fire shows, ice sculpting, glow-in-the-dark face-painting, projections, roving circus acts, children’s craft and a light-up dance floor.

“This year we are thrilled to be bringing high calibre light installations to the city, including Enlighten by Born in a Taxi, a huge illuminated cube and performance space, designed by ex-U2 lighting designer Bruce Ramus and sculptor David Murphy,” he said.

Cr Gibbons said Werribee businesses would also remain open late, serving up warm winter dishes, street food, hot chocolates and special retail offers.

The Wyndham Cultural Centre will feature the Piano Republic Speakeasy, a lounge room bar with jazz and cabaret artists.

Admission to the Winter Street Party is free. Details: www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/winter
