Two inbound lanes are closed on the Princes Freeway at Laverton North after Kororoit Creek Road due to a truck rollover.
There is heavy congestion in both directions, which is also causing delays on the M80 Ring Road and the West Gate Freeway.
Motorists are being asked to slow down in the wet conditions and to follow the direction of emergency services.
Alternative routes include using Kororoit Creek Road through Altona or Boundary and Fitzgerald roads through Laverton North.
