There is a new way for residents of Truganina to express their love for the suburb.
The Arndell Park Community Centre has started selling “I Love Trug” T-shirts, for $10 each.
The centre puts the funds made from the T-shirt sales towards its programs.
Wyndham Cr Tony Hooper said the T-shirts “were a great way of spreading community pride”.
“They were developed by Wyndham City through the Arndell Park Community Centre, and so far they have proven to be very popular with local residents,” Cr Hooper said.
“While the shirts are currently available for purchase, we have also been giving them away to residents as part of competition prizes.”
Cr Hooper said Truganina was a rapidly growing area, made up of people from diverse backgrounds.
“According to the latest census data, Truganina’s population is now over 20,600, an increase of more than 120 per cent over the last five years,” he said.
“With so many people now calling this area home, it’s great that a project like the I Love Trug shirts are able to bring them together, foster pride in their suburb.”
