Police have charged a man after they were called to a report that up to 20 people forced their way into a house, and damaged cars, in Wyndham Vale last night.

The 21-year-old man has been bailed, after being charged with weapons offences and resisting police.

Police said that another man arrested at the time has been released and is expected to be charged on summons in relation to the incident.

Police also said: “The charges follow what is believed to have been a targeted attack at the Munroe Drive property about 9pm and a number of ongoing issues between two groups of people.”

The investigation remains ongoing.

In a separate incident, on Sunday night police were called out to reports of two males on the roof of a house in Waiben Crescent, Point Cook around 9.40pm. Investigators were told the men ran off when confronted by neighbours.

“Police attended and spoke to the residents of the property and no entry had been gained,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“Police are also investigating an aggravated burglary which occurred in Evesham Drive sometime between 12 and 5am last night (Sunday).

“Police believe offenders broke into the property while residents were asleep and stole items before leaving. No one was injured.”
