Regardless of whether it’s socks or jocks this Sunday, Evren Velisha is looking forward to spending the day with his children.
The Werribee South market gardener will take a day off work to celebrate Father’s Day with his daughter Ivy, 2, son Ezra, four months, his partner Phoebe and other fatherly figures in the Velisha family at a special lunch.
“It’s not about the presents,” he said. “I’m looking forward to waking up and spending the day with the kids.”
It will be his third Father’s Day as a parent, and Evren says he’s enjoyed every moment of fatherhood.
“As soon as I walk into the house and see them, it’s all good,” he said.
“Watching them grow up and seeing all the funny things they do is the best part of being a father.”
Mr Velisha will join thousands of other dads in Wyndham in celebrating Father’s Day on September 4.
