Community Christmas event

201503_01

While many people are preparing their lists of holiday tasks to accomplish and gifts to purchase, there are many others who are struggling in the Wyndham area due to the effects of COVID lockdowns.

To ease some of the pressures that accompany the holiday season, families are invited to pre-register for Helping Hand Day to get a donated hamper of food at Stockland Point Cook Town Centre on Saturday, December 18 from 10.30am-12.30pm.

At the same time carols will be sung live from Lightpoint Church’s Creative Ministries at the Picnic Park and children’s entertainment will be in the Target quadrant, with gingerbread decorating, Santa, gifts for children (while supplies last) and appearances by Hey Dee Ho musical education.

Back in 2019, the event saw hundreds of families receive assistance, with more than 300 food hampers given out and new and second-hand toys and clothes distributed.

Lightpoint Church has been organising Helping Hand Days since 2012 and since then the church has assisted thousands of people at Christmas time.

This year’s event is sponsored by Stockland, Woolworths, Target, Wyndham council and numerous people who have generously donated.

To find out more about the event including donation drop off locations please find Lightpoint Church on Facebook, see www.lightpointchurch.com or call Melissa on 0466 094 801.
