The Manor Lakes Cricket Club is spreading goodwill this Christmas.

Families and members of the club held a food drive to assist local group Helping Hampers Point Cook provide food, toiletries and toys to families in need.

Chantelle, a parent from the cricket club, helped to organise the food drive.

“We like to support and donate to the charities that support the less fortunate and help them enjoy the things that people take for granted,” she said.

“The food drive went for roughly two weeks, we have enjoyed being able to help people and be a part of putting a smile on their faces, whether it be a family of five or a single parent.

“Families and members from the club played a major role in the process of collecting and donating food, toys and Christmas decorations, as well as beauty and health products.

“Being a community-based cricket club, with a lot of families with different needs, we thought this would be a perfect opportunity to give back to the community.”
