The Werribee Hospital Foundation will host its first virtual fundraiser, The BIG BUZZ Trivia Night, next month.

The event will be held to raise funds to upgrade the 24-hour Mental Health Crisis Line at Werribee Mercy Hospital, which is experiencing a rise in calls due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The online trivia night will include prizes in the categories of winning team, best dressed and best team name.

The foundation’s community engagement and fundraising manager, Lisa Field, said the family-friendly event would include five rounds of general trivia.

The ticket price for the night is $25 per device, with as many people allowed on the one device as participants would like.

Ms Field said the Werribee Hospital Foundation started a fundraising campaign for the Mental Health Crisis Line earlier this year.

A raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses – which was drawn in June – has raised more than $4000 for the cause.

“Hopefully we will do the same with this online trivia night,” Ms Field said.

She said the foundation was also seeking business support and donations of prizes for the trivia night.

The event will be held at 6.30pm on Friday, August 14. Bookings essential, via: trybooking.com/BKNJD.
