Williams Landing is continuing to go up in the world, with construction of a fourth commercial building starting in the town centre.

Located at 101 Overton Road, the building will include a ground floor plus six storeys, 6000 square metres of strata office space and retail premises with cafe and restaurant facilities.

Developer Cedar Woods Properties hosted a sod-turning ceremony at the site last week.

Cedar Woods Victorian state manager, Lloyd Collins said the company was “witnessing strong demand for office space in Williams Landing”.

“Our rail and road connection, future commercial master plan capacity and existing amenities are all in strong demand from small and large businesses,” he said.

Speaking at the sod-turning, Wyndham mayor Mia Shaw said the developments which brought jobs to Wyndham helped to cut back on the amount of time residents spent commuting to work.

“Wyndham has experienced strong employment growth of over 50 per cent over the past five years and it is developments of this nature and the growth of Williams Landing as a commercial hub that is contributing significantly to this trend,” Cr Shaw said.

Apart from 101 Overton Road, Cedar Woods’ commercial portfolio in Williams Landing consists of the new Target Australia headquarters, an office building within the Williams Landing Shopping Centre and two other buildings which are under construction: 111 Overton Road, a strata building which completely sold out prior to construction, and 107 Overton Road, which has been leased to the state government’s Minister for Finance.
