Detectives are hoping to identify a man with a distinctive gait following an armed robbery in Hoppers Crossing last month.

Investigators have been told the man attended a bottle shop at a Geelong Road shopping centre about 6.50pm on March 6.

The man selected a can of alcohol before walking to the counter.

He lowered his pants to reveal a knife to the attendant and demanded cash.

The man fled the store with a sum of cash before, before leaving the shopping centre on a black bicycle..

Police have released images and CCTV footage and images of a man they believe may be able to assist them with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, between 30 and 40 years old, about 188cm tall with an average build, and had a distinctive walking style.
