Wyndham library members aged 12 and older have been invited to enter a YA (Young Adult) Summer Book Binge reading competition.

With the school holidays coming to the end, Wyndham council’s libraries are encouraging young people to enjoy reading for leisure.

To enter the Book Binge, library members can download and complete a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line on the book binge card – similar to a bingo card – to be entered into a prize draw.

They can tick off the books they have read across the summer by writing the title and author in the matching square on the book binge card.

Some squares on the card have a task, for those entrants need to write the answer in the appropriate square.

Young people will receive one entry into the competition for every line on the card that they complete, with a maximum of four entries permitted for completing all 16 squares.

Tasks related to reading must be completed using titles that fall within the YA genre, meaning that the main character(s) of the book is a person or people aged between 12 and 25).

The Book Binge prize pool includes a $100 Robinsons Bookshop voucher, new release YA books and more.

To enter the competition, email your book binge card to teensummerread@wyndham.vic.gov.au or drop it off at the at a Wyndham library branches.

The competition will run until 5pm on Monday, January 31, details: www.wyndham.vic.gov.au/ya-summer-book-binge
