After losing his mother to pancreatic cancer earlier this year, Hoppers Crossing’s Ray Schembri wanted to help others who found themselves in similar situations.

The owner of Top Gear Cleaning purchased a car to provide transport for families staying at the Fight Cancer Foundation’s “home away from home” in North Melbourne.

“Top Gear Cleaning already cleans the home,” Mr Schembri said, “and we thought – they don’t have a way to get to and from doctors appointments. So we purchased this car and donated it. It’s a rewarding feeling to know we are helping these families.”

The car was purchased at a discounted price from Western Nissan in Ravenhall.
