Princes Freeway chaos after Werribee collisions

UPDATE: Inbound lanes of the Princes Freeway are open again following two collisions in Werribee.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Kate Fawcett said in the second incident, one of the cars, which was travelling towards Geelong, ‘‘crossed over the median strip and crashed into another car, which was Melbourne bound’’.

All traffic travelling towards the city was diverted at Geelong Road.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman Paul Bentley said two people suffered minor injuries in the collision, and one person was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

He said that in an earlier incident, a truck rammed into a tree between Duncans and Sneydes Roads in Werribee.

One person was treated at the scene for minor injuries, but was not taken to hospital.
