Werribee campus staff to walk out

STAFF

at Melbourne University’s Werribee campus will stage stopwork
meetings today to campaign for improvements in job security and career
development.

National Tertiary Education Union members, including vets,
academics, vet nurses, technical officers and administrative staff, will
take part in rolling stoppages.

NTEU branch president Ted Clark said
many of the staff at the Werribee campus were employed on fixed-term
contracts.

He said while the stoppages would cause disruptions to
classes and vet services, staff would not stop work in emergency
situations.
