The subject of government wrangling and many reports by experts, the role of daycare and kindergarten has never been more recognised as crucial to a child’s development.

Community Children childcare and kindergarten operations manager Margo Vasilevska agrees about the high importance of excellent services for children and their families.

“Our centres, including our Wyndham branch that opened five years ago, have a real understanding of their responsibility to elevate the childminding approach of the past to one of focused learning and development,” she says.

“We have children, whether from busy working or single parents, to whom staff are committed to aiding their physical and academic development in the lead up to school.”

Margo says Community Children – Wyndham is a popular centre, catering for children aged between birth and six years.

“We have many families, even from surrounding areas, who have heard about our wonderful reputation and want their children to have the same experience their friends’ children have.”

Centre director Shantelle Bernard says parents are always impressed with the service and the fair pricing offered.

“At a lot of centres, children have to be booked in for a minimum number of days. That’s not our way,” Shantelle says. “In fact, a third of our families come to us from elsewhere because here they pay only for days needed.

“Some centres have separate charges for under-threes and over-threes, but we just have one standard cost regardless of the age of the child. Some charge for nappies, some charge for formula, some charge for this and that, whereas our prices are inclusive.”

The centre has a welcoming entrance and the modern but cosy feel continues all through. It has large purpose-built rooms to cater for activities that include art, drama and science, while a commercial-grade kitchen pumps out high-quality nutritious meals. Outdoors, an architect-designed playground caters for sporting activities – and lots of fun and learning.

Right now, the centre has a special offer – refer a friend and you both get two weeks free.

It should also be noted that the centre has an Exceeding National Quality Standard rating, details of which are publicly available.
