Showgirls, acrobats, singers and dancers will make their way to Wyndham next week to light up the cultural centre in cabaret show, Caravan Burlesque.
Now in its eighth year, the show is touring regional Australia after securing a grant from Regional Arts Australia.
Over the years more than 100,000 people around the world have seen the show.
Producer and star Moira Finucane says Wyndham residents can expect the unexpected when the show rolls into Werribee on November 8.
“It is a fantastic variety show with cabaret, sideshows, circus acts and burlesque dancing . . . the stuff you would expect in a smoky club in the back streets of Paris at 3am.
“The show is wild. In some ways, it’s like a dreamscape. It’s very surreal.”
Finucane says the show’s line-up is constantly changing and includes performers from around the world.
Joining Finucane onstage will be Paul Cordeiro, who choreographed The Lion King stage show, international dancer Holly Durant , circus performer Anna Lumb and showgirl Maude Davey.
“Paul’s routines are infused with Bollywood, samba, salsa and light up the stage. Anna performed in circus clubs all over Europe,” Finucane says.
In the past six months, the show has been performed in regional towns including Darwin, Pilbara, Portland, Margaret River and Tennant Creek.
Finucane says performers enjoy visiting smaller venues, transforming them into Parisian salons for one night.
“We wanted to take burlesque to audiences everywhere but until now we haven’t travelled to regional Australia.” Caravan Burlesque is at the Wyndham Cultural Centre on Thursday, November 8 at 8pm. Tickets: 9741 9500
