On ramp may ease freeway squeeze
To ease congestion on the Princes Freeway from the Wyndham Vale area, why doesn’t the state government build an on-ramp that leads directly to the Western Ring Road.
I have noticed a lot of commuters use the Princes Freeway to get onto the Western Ring Road which causes unnecessary congestion, especially peak hour.
There is more and more housing being developed in these areas, especially with the new Sneydes Road housing development as well as the soon to be developed huge Werribee east project.
Something seriously needs to be done!

Re: Tanning salon seeks compo over solarium ban (Weekly, November 21):
I am still scratching my head on this one.
The government wants to shut down solariums because they cause 40-odd deaths per year in Australia. Tobacco and alcohol cause thousands of deaths directly and indirectly each year. Why are these products still available? Ah, right, they are taxed. I would support a move to regulate the industry, train the staff properly, tax it if need be and let those who wish to risk their lives for the sake of vanity continue to do so.

Re: Labor looks west for port site (Weekly, November 28):
More trucks on the West Gate Freeway – just what we don’t need. Superior road and rail infrastructure? If what we have here is superior I would hate to live where it is average, because then I would never get to work.
